Latest Updates from Our Project:

Day 18: Shipping
about 5 years ago – Fri, Feb 15, 2019 at 11:40:12 PM

The campaign only has 5 days left, so let's talk about everyone's favorite topic!

Shipping

We're fulfilling this campaign using the same method as our previous 3. All games will be airmailed directly from China once manufacturing is complete. That means it's pretty quick, usually a few weeks once shipping starts. Some countries' customs processes add a few weeks to this (last time, Canada and Italy were among the longest arrival times).

BackerKit

New for this campaign, we're trying out BackerKit for post-campaign pledge management. What does that mean?

  • About 2 weeks after the campaign, you'll be able to go in and indicate exactly how you want your pledge funds allocated.
  • If you want to add additional copies of things, you will be able to use BackerKit to do so.
  • However, we are locking in the final manufacturing count immediately after the campaign ends. We'll build in some extra copies for late orders and add-ons, but the quantity will be fixed. It's still easier for us to gauge things if you pledge for them now.
  • For that reason, if you backed at anything less than the Fall pledge level (including if you're a latecomer doing a post-campaign preorder), you won't get the $1 discount on the Ash and Musician levels.

Getting multiple things

Everything will ship separately. The only way to combine things is the Ash pledge (base game bundle with 2 Stars Below sets). Otherwise, make sure you add the appropriate shipping for each item you want.

For example, if you want 3 copies of the Musician pledge shipped to the US, pledge ($23+$1) times 3, or $72 total.

If you accidentally pledge the wrong amount for shipping, you'll be able to pay any difference in BackerKit.

VAT

The shipping on this game is NOT EU-friendly, but the declared package values ($3, $23, or $26 USD) are below or right around the customs thresholds for many countries.

We don't expect many people will get flagged for VAT. However, know that countries are getting more strict about VAT over time. If that's a deal-breaker for you, you may need to reconsider your pledge. Alternatively, send us a message about (more expensive) VAT-prepaid shipping options. Or, ask your local game store to contact us about a retailer pledge so you can buy it from them.

If you have questions or there are things we forgot to address, sound off in the comments! We want to be as transparent as possible.

Today's featured card

Exile: A new tool for your toolbox. Just when you've gotten used to keeping track of where all three copies of a particular fate tile are... you can take one completely out of the game! Not only does it affect the odds of drawing it again (take that, 7s), but it also has the secondary benefit of clearing fates from in front of a card that might otherwise fade.

Day 16: Faded Powers and Art
about 5 years ago – Wed, Feb 13, 2019 at 11:37:16 PM

Another quiet update today. Matthew should be back next time to begin talking about shipping. Also, per his note in the comments section, anything you've ordered directly off of the Meromorph Games webstore during the last week or two of the campaign is expected to ship closer to the end of February.

Today's featured card

Amplify: Like big turns? Raise the stakes with a power that helps you jump closer to victory, but also risks upping the penalties for failure. Combine this with a turn containing multiple fading cards and watch out! Remember, you don't choose which card this attaches to, so play carefully when it's about to fade on its flip side.

Day 14: Lore
about 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 11, 2019 at 11:40:22 PM

Small update from Kevin today, as Matthew's out travelling. Per his note last time, the final Lore article is now live on the Meromorph blog here.

This wraps up the last major story hinted at by the cards, including a few stragglers from all the way back in the base game that never wormed their way into one of the other tales. Thanks to everyone over the years who's helped ensure that we didn't forget about The Noble or The Servant!

Day 11: Milestones and The Ash
about 5 years ago – Sat, Feb 09, 2019 at 12:39:13 AM

For those keeping track, around Day 9's update we actually passed the funding total of the first Shipwreck Arcana campaign. As Kevin mentioned in the comments, we're pretty blown away.

Miscellaneous upcoming things

Matthew's going to be traveling this coming week so Kevin will handle the bulk of the comments and updates.

  • Sunday's update will include his lore post for the new cards!
  • We have a Spanish translation of the rulebook and of the PNP coming, thanks to generous volunteers. We're aiming to upload them to the Meromorph Games site just after the campaign.
  • We're just past the halfway point of the campaign!

Today's featured card

The Ash: A card which inverts the natural order, making 7s the safest possible play, while creating instant doom from a lowly 1 or 2. Try your best to let it grow and absorb as much as it can before it inevitably crumbles.

Day 9: PPC photos and The Musicians
about 5 years ago – Wed, Feb 06, 2019 at 11:58:30 PM

As we discussed in the first update, we've actually already received the pre-production copy of the new Stars Below arcana cards. The PPC copy is used to check for any errors prior to entering mass production, but it's also a great chance to capture some photos of the actual product. As you can see below, the new cards turned came out great!

Today's featured card

The Musicians: This card lets you sum 2 or 3 fates to make a known total... but doesn't let you specify how many fates you combined, or which ones they are! If it seems like a puzzle with too many variables, you aren't taking full advantage of it yet. Look for ways to leave no doubt about which visible fates you've mixed into the tune.
