Our next project and a Shipwreck Arcana promo

Hey you fine folks! It's been a while, but we have one more update for this campaign: we just launched our next project!

Atma is a complete roleplaying game in a tiny package. It's portable, quick to set up and teach, and plays in just 2 hours — perfect for game nights or pop-up sessions! We wanted to combine our love for card games and tabletop RPGs into an accessible hybrid, so if that sounds cool, we hope you'll check it out!

As a thank you to our repeat backers, we've also created a new Shipwreck Arcana promo card featuring one of Atma's characters (to go with the cameos of our other games that are already in there, like Norsaga).

This promo is an alternate Hours card that features variant doom rules on the back (the same rules found in the Print-and-Play files on our website).

Anyone backing Atma at the Act pledge level will receive this promo. At some point in the future it will be available on our website as well (probably after Gen Con 2021).

Shipping update #3: missing copies

While some folks are just now getting their games, it's been long enough that most should have arrived. If yours hasn't, there may be a problem*. I'm planning to start reshipping base game copies over the coming weeks. You are welcome to wait 1-2 weeks more before notifying me, if you want to give the process a little more time, otherwise:

If your base game reward hasn't arrived yet...

• If you're outside the US, please check with your local post office or customs office and see if they're holding anything in your name. A reship could meet the same fate.
• If that doesn't turn up anything, or you're in the US, please send an email to [email protected] and let me know, along with your name and address (so I can double check for simple errors).

* If you are missing any copies of Stars Below, you're probably in the delayed group; no need to contact us yet. If you input your address into BackerKit late (June or July) please wait a few more weeks before contacting us, as your order went out later. If you preordered the game (wave 2 shipping), your order has NOT shipped yet (expected timeframe is late July/early August for wave 2 shipping to start).

Replacement parts

Please email [email protected] if you find any issues with your copy. Replacement parts should start being sent out in July.

Shipping status

Everything from this campaign (except the delayed stuff below) has shipped. Backers all over the world have started seeing their games trickle in. We appreciate everyone who sounds off in the comments, letting us and other backers know how deliveries are going!

Important note: EVERY copy of the base game mailed as part of this campaign has 1 copy of the Stars Below  expansion and 1 copy of the 2017 Kickstarter expansion inside the box. That's been the most-asked question recently, so I wanted to confirm the answer in an update.

EDIT: Also, a reminder that there are no tracking numbers. So don't be surprised that you haven't gotten one!

Damaged or missing stuff

Production errors do happen; if you find any damaged or missing pieces, please email [email protected] and we'll sort you out. Our spare parts don't arrive until late July/early August (along with the delayed stuff), so you will probably have to wait until then to receive it.

 Delayed Stars Below-only rewards 

I've emailed everyone whose Stars Below sets are delayed. If you entered your shipping info in BackerKit after the last update, you may not have gotten an email, but you are in the delayed group.

Gen Con 2019 and the future

We'll be in Indianapolis for Gen Con (Aug 1-4 2019) in booth  #2558. If you're there, please come say hi! We love meeting backers in person. We'll be demoing The Shipwreck Arcana, Stars Below, Norsaga, and possibly some other in-development stuff. We'll also have the Imago promo on hand (free to backers!).

I expect to send out one final update when our extra stock arrives in 1-2 months. At that point we'll also check to see who hasn't received their games and may require a reship.

Shipping status

As of today, I've uploaded shipping info for about 4000 backers; pretty much everyone who entered their address in BackerKit before May 20. About 1500 orders have already shipped, according to the fulfillment center. This coming weekend I'll be downloading the remainder of the addresses and submitting them.

Your responsibility

Please be on the lookout for your reward in the next 2-4 weeks. If you don't see it by late June, please check with your local post office or customs office. Given current events, shipping is probably only going to get more costly, so we'd like to keep the number of missed or returned pledges as low as possible.

Also, feel free to sound off in the Kickstarter comments if your game arrives! It's invaluable feedback for us and a great help for other backers in your country, knowing when things are arriving.

Now on to the less happy news...

Some Stars Below-only rewards delayed

We had a mixup with the quantity of individually-packaged Stars Below sets that went to the fulfillment center, and it looks like we'll be 100-150 copies short. I didn't realize the count was off until today, when I started seeing random orders bounce back for insufficient stock. They'll mostly be in the US, I believe, along with a handful of other countries. It was completely my mistake; using BackerKit for the first time has been a learning process.

What does it mean for you?

• About 100-150 backers who pledged for A) just Stars Below, or B) added extra copies of Stars Below to their pledge, won't get them right away.
• Base game bundles (with Stars Below packaged inside) that were pledged for will still ship normally; that means you may get one package soon, and another one later.
• When the extra stock arrive to us in the US (by late July 2019), I'll mail your Stars Below sets myself. It could take another 2-4 weeks after that for non-US backers to receive them.
• You will not be charge extra shipping.
• I'm going to include complimentary copies of the Imago promo with all the delayed sets.

My sincere apologies to those affected by the delay. When I've sorted through all the shipping and tallied up the affected backers, I'll inform you by email.

Mass production copy unboxing

The mass production copy (which is the final thing we approve in the manufacturing process) came a few days ago and we approved it. I put together a quick unboxing video so you can see what it looks like.

Apologies for the low quality, I'm very much not a video person.

At the end there I included a comparison of the first and second print runs, so you can see that the cards look pretty much the same. Also, for what it's worth, I had my wife try to sort a 5-card mix of new and old cards and she couldn't do it (despite looking for signs of normal wear on my year-old set).

BackerKit addresses locked

We're currently on schedule for the games to go to our fulfillment partner on May 18, 2019, so today I locked the BackerKit addresses. I'm going to start formatting the shipping info next week. If you have concerns about your address, send me a message. If you haven't yet filled out your survey, you should have gotten one last reminder.

Charges for add-ons processed next week

If you had any BackerKit add-ons, your card will be charged next week, when production finishes.

What's next

After May 18, it will likely take at least a week to get the fulfillment center spooled up and have orders start going out. It will probably take 1-2 weeks for everything to ship, and another 2-4 weeks transit time for most orders.
